A bouquet of flowers, a fresh haircut and a relaxing facial may not typically go hand in hand.
At Bloom in Ronkonkoma, that’s exactly the idea.
The new business, located at 3 Hawkins Ave. in Station Yards, combines a full-service florist, salon and med spa under one roof. Owned by Kerry Maher Weisse, who also owns Lake Avenue Florist in St. James, Bloom held its soft opening earlier this month and will celebrate its grand opening Saturday.
According to salon manager, head colorist and stylist Olivia Eisenberg, the concept evolved after Maher Weisse secured the spacious Station Yards location.
“Kerry wanted to open the florist and when she got this space, it was just going to be floral,” Eisenberg said. “Then she realized how big this was and thought, ‘Wow, I can make something even bigger.’”
That idea grew into a business centered on beauty, wellness and special occasions.
“So, you can come in here and self-love yourself,” Eisenberg said. “You can get your hair done, you can get your facial, you can get a head spa, you can relax, and we’re also going to leave with some flowers. She wanted to fill everyone’s cup here.”]
Bloom offers haircuts, color services, bridal styling, blowouts and other salon treatments. The spa features Hydrafacials, laser hair removal, head spa treatments and aesthetic services, including Botox and fillers, all provided under the supervision of a medical director. Online booking is available, and the business is open seven days a week.
While Bloom welcomes anyone looking for flowers or a salon appointment, Maher Weisse also envisioned it as a one-stop destination for brides preparing for their wedding day.
“The way I pictured this is, as a bride, instead of having to make six different appointments to go to six different places, you could sit down while your hair’s processing and meet with your floral designer,” Eisenberg said. “If you’re getting your facials or your aesthetic treatments, we could do it all in one place.”
Beyond weddings, Bloom creates floral arrangements for baby showers, bridal showers and other special events while also offering grab-and-go bouquets, scheduled flower deliveries and in-home floral design services.
Eisenberg said the Station Yards location has already attracted commuters and neighborhood residents, with some customers signing up for recurring flower deliveries to apartments in the development.
Bloom also carries products from other local businesses and plans to host workshops, networking events and bridal gatherings throughout the year.
“Kerry is looking to create a space that is welcoming and where you can find everything that you need,” Eisenberg said of her lifelong friend. “It’s really about beauty. The flowers are beautiful, but then you can also make yourself look gorgeous, make your skin look gorgeous.”
Bloom will celebrate its grand opening Saturday with raffles, refreshments, a DJ and appearances by several local businesses.
